How-To install WordPress manually (without a script)

Step 1: Head over to wordpress.org and download WordPress
Step 2: Open file manager in cpanel. Upload the WordPress zip to the root directory (usually public_html)
Step 3: extract the zip archive to the root directory. Be sure to move the contents out of the ‘Wordpress’ folder
Step 4: Create the sql database and database user. Use whatever names you like but document it!
Step 5: Add the database user to the newly created database, grant full permissions.
Step 6: Open file manager and rename the file ‘wp-config-sample.php’ to ‘wp-config.php’
Step 7: Edit the ‘wp-config.php’ file. Enter the database name, user and password we created earlier, and hit ‘save’
Step 8: Navigate to your site to finish the installation
Step 9: Enter a username and password for WordPress and your email address. You will use these details to log in to wordpress.
That’s it! You can now log in to WordPress and begin creating your site.
