My friends and I are sharing a small project that combines new tech with historical exploration. We built this to experiment with Gaussian Splatting and let users virtually explore history and art.
We hope you enjoy it! All ideas and feedback are welcome.
A few tech details:
– Stack: Built with Next.js, React, and hosted on Cloudflare Workers. We used Tailwind for rapid development.
– The Tour: The virtual tour uses OpenSeadragon (for high-resolution image tiling) and PlayCanvas for the interactive 3D Gaussian Splats experience.
– Maps: Maps were created using QGIS.
