I built Shields Creative as a more visually appealing alternative to Shields.io for GitHub projects.
Technical highlights:
– Pure SVG generation with CSS animations (no JS execution)
– Modular architecture in ~450 lines
– In-memory LRU cache with Vercel CDN
– Security-first: XSS protection, input validation

The service supports 5 visual styles (glass, neon, depth, gradient, minimal) and 5 animations. All rendering is done server-side for GitHub compatibility.
