Ask HN: Why didn't online speed-dating catch on?

Why isn’t online speed-dating main stream? I noticed there are some apps that try to do it but they are not popular at all.

To me this seems so much more efficient than the endless swiping and pointless texting.

I’m thinking about trying to create and promote such an app myself. WDYT?
